Christmas craft fairs at Leicester Market

CHRISTMAS craft fairs at Leicester Market are set to bring a festive flavour to the city over the next three weekends.

The Christmas craft markets will take place at Market Corner over the next three Saturdays - December 1, 8 and 15 - from 10am to 4pm, and will include a huge array of local craft stalls for shoppers looking for unique Christmas gifts.

Santa Claus will also be walking around both the indoor and outdoor market areas, giving out chocolate treats to shoppers, while volunteers from LOROS will be offering a present-wrapping service in exchange for donations to the hospice charity.

Leicester City Mayor Peter Soulsby said: "Leicester Market is one of the many highlights for shoppers coming to the city, and these Christmas craft fairs will certainly add a great deal to Leicester's festive spirit."

Market development manager, Joe Harkin, added: "These three Christmas crafts markets have caught the imagination of local traders - the uptake of stalls has been excellent and we are been fully booked up for all three Saturdays planned.

"It is great for the market to be able to contribute to the festive cheer, support a local charity and receive a visit from Santa all on the same day."

Media/Photos - Santa will be available for pictures around the market on 1pm on Saturday, December 1.
