TICKETS to Leicester’s biggest Bonfire Night celebrations go on sale this week.
Advance tickets for the Abbey Park Bonfire and Firework Display go on sale on Monday, October 3, at a significant discount to the full price tickets available on the night.
The event is the city’s biggest and best-attended Bonfire Night event, featuring a programme of live entertainment and music, a fire show, a special children’s quiet firework show, and a funfair.
This year’s celebrations take place on Saturday, November 5, to coincide with the actual traditional date of Bonfire Night.
Gates open at 5pm, with the onstage entertainment beginning at 6pm. The children’s firework display takes place at 6.45pm, followed by the Flame Oz fire show at 7.20pm.
Finally, the stunning main firework show starts at 8pm.
Advance tickets cost just £5 for adults, £3.50 for concessions and £14 for a family of four (two adults and two children).
Tickets bought on the gate cost £7 for adults and £5 for concessions, with no family tickets available on the night.
Children under five go free but will need a wristband which is obtained when adults buy a ticket.
Tickets are available from Visit Leicester, De Monfort Hall and online. Further information is available at: www.visitleicester.info/bonfire
Leicester assistant city mayor for culture, leisure and sport, Cllr Piara Singh Clair, said: “This is a great chance to get tickets for this year’s Abbey Park Bonfire and Firework Display at up to 40 per cent less than regular ticket prices.
“Every year this event proves to be the biggest and most popular Bonfire celebration in Leicester, and this year it actually takes place on November 5.
“The firework display is always a spectacular sight, and I’d encourage people to go along and enjoy one of the city’s finest events.”
