Spot the scarecrows at Abbey Pumping Station
Published on Wednesday, September 28, 2016
THE ARRIVAL of autumn will be marked at Abbey Pumping Station this weekend with a special event that celebrates the scarecrows that protect the crops all summer.
Visitors to the pumping station on Saturday (1 October) will be able to spot the scarecrows on the scarecrow trail, before enjoying a ride on the narrow gauge railway.
Tea and cakes will be available from the pumping station café, or visitors can bring a picnic and enjoy it in the autumn sunshine.
Admission to Saturday’s Scarecrows Abound Railway Day – which runs from 11am – 4.30pm – is free of charge, but there is a small charge for railway rides.
For more information, call the Abbey Pumping Station on 0116 299 5111.
