Chance to save money on advance Bonfire Night tickets

PEOPLE wanting to experience Leicester’s biggest and best Bonfire Night celebrations can save money and beat the queues by snapping up advance tickets.

Leicester’s annual Abbey Park Bonfire and Firework Display takes place on Saturday, November 4, and will feature a programme of entertainment and breath-taking pyrotechnics to suit all ages.

This year’s Bonfire Night programme features live music from The High Trees (featuring members of local reggae band By The Rivers), soul singer Georgia Price and acoustic singer/songwriter Ro Jordan.

Younger visitors will be able to enjoy a quieter firework display from 6.45pm, before the main display gets underway at 8pm.

Advance tickets are now on sale, offering up to 40 per cent off the full entry price.

They cost £5 for adults, £3.50 for concessions and £14 for families (two adults and two children). Under-fives go free.

Advance tickets are available from Visit Leicester on Gallowtree Gate, from the De Montfort Hall box office, up until 5pm on Saturday, November 4. They are also available on the gate at Abbey Park up until 3pm on the day of the event.

Full price tickets will then be available on the gate cost £7 for adults, and £5 for concessions. No family tickets will be available at the gate.

Leicester deputy city mayor Cllr Piara Singh Clair said: “Abbey Park Bonfire and Firework Display is always a thrilling event for all the family, and this year is no exception.

“The advance tickets mean visitors can make substantial savings compared to the full price tickets for this dazzling programme of entertainment and fireworks in the historic surroundings of Abbey Park." 

Parking near Abbey Park will be very limited on the day, and visitors should consider using alternative ways to travel.

In order to provide safe access for pedestrians, Abbey Park Road will be closed to traffic from 5.30pm to 10pm, and a section of St Margaret’s Way will be closed to inbound traffic from near Ravensbridge Drive to the Sanvey Gate junction, from 6pm to 10pm.
