Free weekly strolls around Leicester

Published on Wednesday, August 17, 2016

FREE weekly strolls are taking place in Leicester, led by a team of friendly volunteers.

The path-finding walks – which last about an hour to an hour and a half – are designed to bring people together in their communities, as they discover unmapped footpaths and cycle paths in their local area.

Free pedometers are also handed out to participants.

A walk takes place around Evington on 23 August, leaving from Evington Library at 2pm.

In Clarendon Park, there is a walk on 24 August, leaving from Knighton Library at 6pm.

Volunteers will lead a stroll around Aylestone on both 18 & 25 August, starting from Aylestone Leisure Centre at 2pm, while Braunstone walks take place on Tuesdays from 30 August up until 4 October, leaving at 2pm from Braunstone Library, in the Brite Centre.

A series of walks will run on Wednesdays from 31 August until until 5 October in Woodgate, leaving from Woodgate Resource Centre at 2pm.

In Beaumont Leys, walks will take place on Thursdays from 1 September until 6 October, starting at 11am from Beaumont Shopping Centre, near the Keeper’s Lodge pub.

Walkers are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to allow the walks to start on time. You can simply turn up on the day.
