LEICESTER sixth-form students are celebrating their A-level results today.
A total of 217 students took their A-levels at Leicester’s four secondary school sixth forms – City of Leicester College, English Martyrs, New College and St Paul’s.
Overall, at the four schools, 73.4% of students achieved grades A* to C, up from 72.8% in summer 2015.
Ninety-nine per cent of students achieved a pass at grades A to E, up from 98.6% in summer 2015.
Nationally, the overall pass rate was being reported as 98.1%.
Assistant city mayor Cllr Sarah Russell said: “These results are the culmination of a huge amount of hard work put in by teachers and students, and I want to congratulate them all. We know that everyone in the school community works incredibly hard to support these young people so that they can be successful in all that they set out to achieve.
“We’ll continue to work closely with our schools to support their A-level offer and help our students to achieve.”
