Summer fun at the pumping station

Published on Monday, July 25, 2016

TWO special events at Leicester’s Abbey Pumping Station will get youngsters sprinting and printing this summer.

On Tuesday (2 August), the museum will host a day of fun and games with an Olympics-theme.

As well as lots of sporting events, there will also be an opportunity to make paper-doll gymnasts and decorate them in Olympic team colours.

The Children’s Sports Day runs from 11am until 3pm on 2 August.

On the following Saturday (6 August), the pumping station’s print shop will be open, giving children the chance to print their own tickets for a ride on the museum’s train.

Print & Ride Railway Day runs from 11am until 4.30pm on 6 August.

Admission to both events is free, but there will be a small charge for activities and rides on the narrow gauge railway.

Call the Abbey Pumping Station on 0116 299 5111 for more information, or go to visitleicester.info for details of all the events taking place in Leicester's museums this summer.
