Football fun at Fearless Foxes exhibition this weekend

Published on Wednesday, June 15, 2016

LEICESTER’S ‘Fearless Foxes’ exhibition at the city’s New Walk Museum & Art Gallery provides the backdrop for some free football-themed events this weekend.

Comic poet Rob Gee will be running two free workshops on Sunday (19 June), encouraging children and families to create – and perform – their very own football chants. Youngsters aged between six and 10 can have a go from 12 noon until 1pm, while the second session – from 1.30pm to 2.30pm – is aimed at those aged 11 and over.

Outside, in Museum Square, FA-qualified coaches will run fun football activities for all ages and all abilities.

Sessions run from 11.30am-1pm and from 2pm-3.30pm on Sunday (19 June).

Organised by the LCFC Community Trust and Foxes Foundation, the football sessions are free of charge.

Anyone wanting to take part in the football chant workshop or the football activity sessions should book their place in advance by calling the museum on (0116) 225 4900.

Admission to Fearless Foxes – a new exhibition celebrating Leicester City’s extraordinary season – is also free of charge. More than 6,000 people have already visited the exhibition – twice the number of people who visited the museum during the same period last year.

New Walk Museum is open seven days a week. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
