Story of Parks play returns to the stage
Published on Wednesday, August 23, 2017
A PLAY inspired by the work of Edwin Lutyens and his war memorial in Victoria Park will make its return to The Y this weekend.
Commissioned as an original piece for the Story of Parks project and now in its second year, ‘The Finest Ruin’ is set at the arch of Remembrance and explores how the renowned architect's memorials helped to shape the lives of two women with very different backgrounds.
The first performance will take place on Friday 25 August at 7.30pm, with two further shows on Saturday 26 August, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets are free to book and members of the audience will be invited to pay what they like on exit.
Bookings can be made online at www.leicesterymca.co.uk
Alternatively, call the Y box office on 0116 255 7066. Tickets will also be available on the door.
The Story of Parks is a two-year, Heritage Lottery-funded project that will gather and celebrate the history of Leicester’s parks through the stories and memories of local people that use them.
