Market event to showcase vegan food and produce

A mouth-watering range of vegan food and other produce will be available at a special event taking place at Leicester Market this weekend.
Leicester Vegan Community will be running the event – which returns to the market after a successful launch last year – on Sunday, June 11, from 11am to 3pm.
With around 50 stalls on offer, visitors will be able to sample hot and cold vegan food and artisan bakery delights, as well as browsing for vegan-friendly ingredients, clothing, cosmetics and gifts.
There will also be a family area packed with craft activities for children, and information and advice for anyone who wants to find out more about veganism.
The event is run by volunteers from the Leicester Vegan Community, a not-for-profit group that aims to promote a vegan lifestyle and showcase the food, drink and other produce that can be enjoyed without animal ingredients.
Adam Piotrowski, Leicester City Council markets development officer, said: “We’re looking forward to the return of the vegan market after its successful launch last summer.
“It's a popular event and an excellent opportunity to stock up on vegan goods or to try them for the first time.”
