YOUNG entrepreneurs will be taking their first steps into the world of business at Leicester Market this weekend.
The Youth Market has been organised by local group The Community Giants runs on Saturday (27 May) and will give young traders a taste of running a market stall.
With a focus on Fairtrade and ethically sourced products, there will be a range of products on offer including cosmetics, jewellery and gifts.
?Leicester Market is hoping to make the Youth Market a monthly feature following its successful launch at last year’s Winter Food and Drink Festival.
Adam Piotrowski, markets development officer at Leicester City Council, said: “We’re really pleased to be working with The Community Giants again. The young traders bring something new to Leicester Market and we’re very happy to help them in making their first-steps into running their own business.”
John Palmer, managing director of The Community Giants, said: “This scheme is about supporting young people into business. We want to help bring new traders and shoppers to the market and promote the rich traditions and opportunities of the market to future generations.”
The Youth Market will stand close to the Corn Exchange, and will trade from 10am until 4pm.
