ONE of Leicester’s oldest buildings will be hosting a timely programme of chilling treats to help people get into the Halloween spirit.
The frightening fun at the Guildhall begins on Saturday (28 Oct) with ‘Old Haunts: Ghostly Tales of Edwardian Menace’, a live adaption based on the classic spine-chillers of M.R. James. Presented by Don’t Go Into The Cellar! Theatre Company, the one man show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at £10 (£8 concessions).
Immediately afterwards – at 9.30pm there – will be a double-bill of vampire films from Universal Pictures opening with the 1931 classic, ‘Dracula’.
Featuring a timeless performance by Belo Lugosi in the title role, the film is widely regarded as a classic of the genre.
This will be followed by a midnight screening of its 1936 sequel ‘Dracula’s Daughter’.
Tickets are £6 per film, or £10 for the double-bill.
On Sunday (29 Oct), the Guildhall will host an afternoon of creepy crafts and spooky storytelling aimed at children. The event runs at 1pm and again at 3pm. Tickets are £4, but accompanying adults go free.
Then, it’s time to do the timewarp again, as cult classic ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ gets a special Halloween night screening on Tuesday (Oct 31). Doors open at 7pm, and tickets cost £8.
