Change to waste collections for the Easter holidays

Published on Monday, March 26, 2018

RECYCLING and waste collections for some city residents will change this week due to the Easter holidays.

People who normally get their bins and orange bags collected on a Friday will not have a collection on Good Friday (30 Mar). Instead, a double collection will take place on Friday 6 April.

All other regular collection days will be unaffected.

Bins and orange bags should be presented by 7am on the day of collection.

Easter egg boxes, plastic packaging, cardboard and tin foil, can all be recycled using orange bags or communal recycling bins.

The household waste recycling centres at Gypsum Close (off Lewisher Road) and Freemen's Common (on Islington Street) will be open as usual over the Easter holidays.

However, there will no trade waster service running from Gypsum Close on Good Friday (30 Mar) or Bank Holiday Monday (2 Apr).

Customers that subscribe to the city’s garden waste service should note that bank holidays do not affect collections.
