TASTY treats and top-quality tipples will be on offer this weekend at the popular annual Belgrave Food and Garden Festival.
The event takes place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, running from 11am until 4pm on both days.
More than 25 stallholders – many of them local - will be showcasing a wide range of food and drink including preserves, cakes and savouries, with vegan and gluten-free options available.
Hot, cold and alcoholic drinks will be on offer, and there will be a series of talks and demonstrations at the event, as well as children’s activities and a plant sale.
Traders at the event will include Amaryllis Floral; Ferneley’s Ice Cream, of Melton Mowbray, and Sarah’s American Larder. A selection of gins will be on offer from Tin & Tonic, cider from the Thirsty farmer and deli treats from Christopher James Deli.
Further stallholders include Eleri's Welsh Cakes, Really Awesome Coffee, Hardie Boys, Mirch Masala, Picks Farm and Norjans Kitchen.
Admission is £2.50 for everyone except under-13s, who get in free.
Deputy city mayor Cllr Piara Singh Clair, who leads on culture, leisure and sport, said: “This popular annual event brings together a wide range of specialist food and drink providers, from Leicestershire and further afield. It’s a great chance to sample and buy fine quality, artisan food and drink and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Belgrave Hall.”
Free parking for the event is available at Jelson’s on Loughborough Road, just round the corner from the hall.
