ALL recycling and waste collections in Leicester will take place on the normal collection days over the forthcoming special bank holiday to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

There will be no changes to collections on Thursday 2 June or Friday 3 June.

People should put out their bins and orange bags by 7am on the normal collection day.

Any roads that have applied to close for street parties on their normal collection days over the bank holiday will have their waste collected at the beginning of the morning rounds to help minimise disruption.

The household waste recycling centres at Gypsum Close (off Lewisher Road) and Freemen's Common (on Islington Street) will also be open as normal throughout the bank holiday weekend. The trade waste service at Gypsum Close will close for the bank holiday.

Garden waste collections will take place as scheduled on Monday 30 May. Garden waste calendars are available at www.leicester.gov.uk/gardenwaste
