LEICESTER is getting set to welcome thousands of visitors for the return of the award-winning Bring The Paint street art festival.

Now in its fourth year, the festival will once again transform the streets with large-scale pieces of public art between Monday 20 and Sunday 26 May.

Over the seven days, visitors will be able to enjoy one of the most ambitious festival programmes yet, as they witness the progress of a huge selection of international, national, and local artists as they create more than 30 murals across the city.

Bring The Paint will also offer a wide range of exhibitions, workshops, live music events, street art tours and many other family friendly activities.

Artistic Director of Bring The Paint, Izzy Peacock said: We are incredibly excited to stage Bring The Paint for the fourth time in Leicester. Our world-class line-up speaks for itself, and we are proud to be working with such an incredible selection of artists. The festival is set to be one of the biggest street art events in the UK this year.”

Leicester City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby said: "This event makes high-quality art accessible to everyone, taking it onto the street and out of the galleries.

"Since hosting the first event in 2017 we now have one of the world's largest open-air art galleries, free for everyone to enjoy.

"Bring The Paint also gives a great economic boost to the city, thanks to the thousands of visitors it attracts from all over the country. We are looking forward to its return, and to adding to our art collection."

This year, world renowned artists from Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, Portugal, The Netherlands, Brazil, Switzerland, France, and the UK will be taking part, with headline artists including SOFLES, SMASH, TAPS & MOSES, SUPER A, NUNO VIEGAS and FLYING FORTRESS, as well as KINOS, KID ACNE, WARRIORS, ERWTJE, JO-BER and SMUG.

The festival is sponsored by Arts Council England, BID Leicester, Leicester City Council, De Montfort University, PPL PRS Ltd, Platform Housing, Jake & Nayns and Mills Nutrients.
