APPRENTICES from across the city and county are being invited to graduate at De Montfort Hall this summer.

On Friday 21 June, apprentices can attend a very special ceremony where they’ll be rewarded for their efforts and achievements in front of friends, family and local businesses. Tickets are available to book now, with the 9 June deadline for booking fast approaching.

Organised by Leicester City Council’s Employment Hub, the event aims to celebrate the successes and raise the profile of apprentices. Having a graduation ceremony shows that apprenticeships carry the same esteem as a university qualifications.

Any apprentice who lives or works in Leicester or Leicestershire, or who did their qualification with a local training provider, can attend the event – you just need to have been awarded an intermediate, advanced, higher or degree-level apprenticeship qualification by 21 June 2024.

The ceremony will feature great entertainment, including performances from the Leicester Taiko drummers, and the chance to step up on stage to be recognised as a graduate. Local businesses will also be present at the event, and prospective graduates can bring along family and friends to celebrate with them.

This will be the eighth apprenticeship graduation ceremony in Leicester. Leicester City Council sponsors the event, along with training providers and employers across Leicestershire.

Apprentices can book their place online at the Marston Events website for £30, which covers the cost of hiring a graduate cap and gown. You can also choose to have professional photos (additional charge applies), which you can order either online or on the day. The deadline for booking is Sunday 9 June.

Family and friends can book tickets via the De Montfort Hall website or by calling the box office on 0116 233 3111. Adult guest tickets cost £15; children under 16 are free but you will still need to book a ticket for them.

The event will be filmed and photographed, with coverage on social media using the hashtag #hubgraduation
