Leicester's mobile museum, 'The Cabinet of Curiosity'.

LEICESTER Museums are getting out and about in the city this summer, taking their mobile museum of fascinating artefacts to local neighbourhoods.

On Tuesday (19 August), the Cabinet of Curiosity will be at the Brite Centre in Braunstone, giving people the chance to handle objects from the museums’ collections right on their doorstep.

As well as mammoths’ teeth and dinosaur fossils, there will be lots more to discover, including retro technology, Roman pottery and a very popular ‘croc in a box’.

And to tie in with Elmer and Friends – Leicester Museum’s free summer exhibition – and the trail of colourful elephants in LOROS’s Stomp Round Leicester initiative, there’s an elephant theme for the Cabinet of Curiosity too.

The drop-in event, with free craft activities, takes place at the Brite Centre from 10am until 4pm on Tuesday.
