A NEW guide to Leicester brings together all the city’s attractions with the historic Clock Tower as a starting point – showing not only the huge range of things to do in Leicester, but also how easy they are to access from the city centre.
Included in the fold-out guide are two maps of the city centre, plus information on a wide range of attractions, such as Leicester’s medieval Guildhall, St Martin’s Square, the Cultural Quarter and Leicester Cathedral – all within a five-minute walk of the Clock Tower.
The King Richard III Visitor Centre, Jewry Wall Roman Museum, Leicester Museum and Newarke Houses also feature in the guide, along with the National Space Centre, Curve theatre, the Golden Mile and the Phoenix cinema and arts centre.
Sports and outdoor activities are also highlighted, with information on the city’s top sporting venues for football, rugby, basketball and cricket, as well as opportunities for adventurers to have a go at paddleboarding or kayaking on the city’s waterways.
With more than 190 parks and green spaces across the city, the guide also highlights some top places to relax, plus there’s a rundown of the array of festivals and events that Leicester hosts, such as the Riverside festival, Bring The Paint and the comedy festival.
City centre director Sarah Harrison said: “This handy pocket-sized guide is ideal for anyone who wants to explore the city.
“We wanted to create something that signposts the city’s many attractions to visitors. Whether it’s your first visit to Leicester or your thousandth, pick up one of these guides and enjoy exploring all that the city has to offer!”
The guide can be picked up from the Visit Leicester information centre - located in the King Richard III visitor centre – as well as at the Town Hall Bike Park and at hotels, shopping centres and tourism venues across the city.
